As a businessman I spend a lot of time on the road. One of my most frequent destinations over the past ten years has been the countries capital, London. Not surprising since so many businesses have their head offices there.
Finding food and evening entertainment in London is never a problem. There are pubs all over the place, and decent resteraunts are in plentiful supply. Once you get the working day out of the way, London is actually quite a pleasant place to unwind.
One issue I did have serious problems with when I first started visiting London on business (apart from the traffic) was finding dry cleaners. Often I would get a call from my director (normally just as I got on the motorway to come home!) telling me that he had scheduled another meeting and that I was needed in London for a few more days. In circumstances like this, where you have only packed one suit (fully expecting to be returning home the next day) the obvious course of action is to find a dry cleaners, and pray that you can get your suit back, clean and fresh, and ready for the next meeting.
Over the years I have learned that a few dry cleaners are best avoided where your primary objective is to get your whistle and flute cleaned and returned in as short a time as possible. One dry cleaners I have developed a solid trust for in this matter is the 2busy2clean chain. They operate a collection and drop off service to your hotel, and have never let me down in the five years I have used them.
2Busy2Clean operate in a number of key areas throughout London, and their collection and delivery service covers most of the capital. I love this service as it means my evenings can be spent in the “Nuclear Sub” instead of stuck in traffic trying to get to a dry cleaning shop. Hopefully the below links will provide those amongst you who are visiting London on business in the near future with a fighting chance of retaining enough free time to explore this amazing city.
